Usability Assistant 2 Creating user experience modules

Position Description - Conducts usability studies, analyzes data and writes reports under the supervision of a Usability Engineer or Usability Manager. Develops and manages relationship with product team. Works with the product team to develop test questions and usability studies. Oversees projects and works with the supervising Usability Engineer or Manager in identifying and addressing critical usability issues. Specific HSG Requirements: - Gathering and communicating user needs and behaviors through varied forms of research including lab testing, online surveys, and field research - Creating user experience modules (personas, scenario flows, task flows) that can effectively guide the product team - Conducting iterative user assessments that enable the team to refine the product from conception through post launch. - Coordinate and work closely with the marketing team to leverage their research - Applying domain knowledge (e.g., HCI, usability) to enhance products, and mentoring PM team - Emphasis on rapid evaluation and iteration - Manage multiple projects, prioritizing and planning deliverables - Find creative ways to evangelize the research data and findings, driving awareness and results into the product -

Qualifications - Work related experience in Human Machine Interaction or usability required. Demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data required. Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. Experience in project management preferred. Masters degree in Psychology, Human Factors or related field required or Bachelors degree in Psychology, Human Factors or related field with equivalent work experience in Behavioral Science. Qualifications: - At least 5-7 years experience conducting user research and effectively working with a product team to leverage findings - At least 4 years conducting research on online products (sites, applications, etc) and client applications - Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to summarize and present user research or usability data - Ability to drive change and user-focus data-driven decisions - An advanced degree or equivalent experience in Human Factors Engineering, Experimental Psychology, or Computer Science (e.g., HCI) and expertise in experimental design - Enthusiasm and energy to work in a start-up environment - Portofolio or work samples strongly recommended
